The global food crisis, firstly, can be said to betriggered by the fast population growth in recentdecades.

With more and more people to be fed, we have tofind better ways to increase our agricultural yields.

Moreover, while we are striving for a highercivilization, the damages we have done to the environment make much of the world’s soildeteriorate. With the land yielding little, there is no wonder that people will go hungry.

Last but not least, many farmers in some countries are leaving the land because the cost ofproduction exceeds the return.

Some of them work at jobs off the land, and some just lay waste the land altogether.

Solving the global food crisis is a big issue, and needs the concern and cooperation of everynation of the world.

On an individual level, we should be frugal about the food, and never waste a bit of it.
