1.prepare for：为......做准备

e.g. She decided to forgo the party and prepare for the English exam.

她决定不去参加聚会,为英语考试作好准备。

e.g. She rolled up her sleeves and began to prepare for supper.

2.by heart：凭记忆

e.g. He went to see his favorite band in concert and knew all the songs by heart.

他去看他最喜难的乐团的演唱会，而且记得他们所有的歌曲。

e.g. Why don't you write out a speech and get it by heart?

3.learn something by heart：记住，背诵，默诵

e.g. We had better learn by heart as many sentence patterns as we can.
