Cell Phones

As is shown in the chart, cell phones are becoming more and more popular within China. In 1999, the number of cell phones in use was only 24,480,000, but in 2002, the number is more than 100 million, which is a turning point. The newest statistic shows that in 2007 the number has exceeded 500 million.

There are many factors contributing to this development. Firstly, a cell phone has no wires and can be carried everywhere easily. Secondly, a cell phone is something wonderful that we can have fun with news, games, music and chat through sending short messages. Thirdly, the drop in price and the simultaneous improvement in the functions have made it possible for an average person to make use of a cell phone.

The wide use of cell phones has made them more and more indispensable in people’s daily life. The many functions of the cell phone have made certain people reluctant to separate themselves from their cell phone.

如图所示，手机在中国越来越受欢迎，1999年的手机使用情况仅有2448万，但拿到了2002年，这个数字已经超过了1亿。这一年也是一个转折点。最新数据显示到2007年，中国的手机使用情况超过了5亿。

造成这种发展有多种原因。其一，手机是无线的，可以方便地带去任何地方;其二，我们可以用手机看新闻、玩游戏、听音乐、用短信同他人交谈;其三，价格下降和功能升级使普通人也可以用上手机。

手机的广泛使用使它们成为了人们日常生活中不可或缺的一部分。手机的多功能使一些人不愿意同它们分开。
